I am a woman of sounds, I give with sounds, I feel free and full by sounds. Sounds, when they come together into a melody, they lead, flow like a stream. Stroking, they walk the path with a gentle dance, the end of which is mysterious and invisible. The memory of the source, the essence of depth, lives in them. There is no arrival in music, only processes, the constant intertwining of moments, presence, timelessness.

I express my deepest reality with music, but at the same time I look for silence where my voice can return and from which it can be reborn. I want to caress and lead with the music, to give a bed to the flow, to give a sound to the source. Not to move in the direction of a physical goal, but rather towards a way of life, the present, the presence where we can meet in a different capacity, beyond material reality.

I have traveled to Granada, New York, Mexico and India to give and bring. During my travels, I gave voice to who I am in the language of music. They were welcomed and accepted everywhere because they did not see my possible otherness, but that we speak one language, come from one source. I have had to face many difficulties over time that have slowly forged into the Réka I am now.

When an obstacle rolls in my way, I always remind myself that I have two choices: to recognize the opportunity in difficulty or to see the difficulty in the opportunity. I choose the former and meanwhile recite my mantra, giving voice to my desires: “may miracle and good fortune accompany me on my journey”.

Réka Fodor

Réka Fodor and Sára Dizna Kovács started their joint project a year ago, in which they both sound their vocals and their percussion and wind instruments from different equator. The main line of their music is the intertwining of Hungarian folk songs with other styles, as well as the improvisational display of the co-vibration of sound and instruments. They explore exciting musical worlds from meditative fine, soft sound to more rhythmic technical moods.
