The songs in the Gyöngyhalász Latin Band's repertoire have one common feature: The sun. The sunlight that filters through the music and warms its listeners as well. These musics and associated dances are dominated by passion and pure feelings. The lyrics of the songs are about everyday life, love, work, but they can also have religious themes. They often sing of the beauty of their own region or the misery of their fate.
The repertoire of the Gyöngyhalász Latin Orchestra:
- from the music of the Caribbean region (Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia)
- From the music of Spain and the Canary Islands
- and is composed of Andean folk music.
Their goal is to interpret this to the Hungarian audience as authentically as possible, using original instruments.
