Obadu (Ákos Vértes) is a Hungarian folktronica producer who blends the spirit of Hungarian and Romanian folk traditions with contemporary electronic rhythms. The kaval, shepherd’s flute, and transverse flute play a central role, interwoven with drum rhythms inspired by hip-hop and Latin American music. In doing so, he breaks down borders between genres and builds an atmosphere that feels both grounded and transcendent. This colorful, genre-blending style makes his music instantly recognizable, building a bridge between tradition, the present, and the future, and inviting its audience on a timeless journey.
He composed the music for the 2025 Ozora Festival Opening Ceremony and has performed as an opening act for Subcarpați in Budapest, one of Eastern Europe’s most influential fusion collectives.. He is also part of the Hungarian Artist Collective called ETHNOTECH.
