The HUG is more than just a festival. It's a community experience. A coming together. A great embrace.
● The handpan—a UFO-shaped steel percussion instrument known for its meditative sound—takes center stage, but the musical landscape extends far beyond it.
● World music, drum & bass, reggae, trance, and organic electronic vibrations weave through the gathering.
● The goal of HUG is to help us connect with one another, with nature, and with ourselves.
● The program includes concerts on two outdoor stages (Fire and Water), music workshops featuring handpan and djembe, as well as inspiring talks and activities exploring topics such as spirituality, lifestyle, self-discovery, and creativity.
● The HUG Festival was founded by MAG Instruments, Hungary’s first handpan-making workshop, together with the enthusiastic organizing team of the Hungarian Handpan Association. In 2026, we will gather for the sixth edition of the festival.
